[updated:LAST EDITED ON 09-Nov-02 AT 07:48 PM (EST)]I went to the rebuild yard today looking for rubber weather sripping for my engine compartment. I was looking at a f150 in the yard and it had two bucket seats and a center seat that folded down and had a compartment and cup holders on the top. It was like a center console but was also a seat. It was seperate from the two bucket seats. I am thinking about buying it and installing it in my bronco. Have any of you guys seen this before or installed one? My original center console was stolen. I know tuffy sells aftermarket consoles but I thought this was kind of cool. This was a 95 f150 same body style as my bronco.
Sounds like you found a pickup fitted with the optional 40-20-40 seat.I have one of these in my 1994 F-250.The center "seat" folds down into a console with twin cup holders& a small storage compartment. The Bronco was available with an optional benchseat in either cloth,or vinyl,so I'd say you could probably swap this seat into your Bronco. The 40-20-40 seat has a switch to adjust the lumbar support.I really never used this feature.I remember thinking how expensive this option was....something like $523.Since I bought my truck off the lot, that's what Ford built it with, but the fold down console was nice to have.
Yes it looked like it would bolt up. I saw to different trucks out in the yard with this option. One of the trucks that had this seat setup was mounted to a bracket(the two buckets and the center seat)the bracket then was mounted too the floor using the stock floor mounts. The other truck had the seats and center seat mounted to the regular floor brackets, the center seat was mounted to the floor but I think it was sitting on a metal frame. I think either would mount in my bronco. Do you have center seatbelts in your truck?
