Im planning on putting the MII IFS in my 53 f100 and i was wondering if anyone out there knew any vehicles besides the 74-78 mustangs that had the MII. ANy info out there would be much appreciated.
Nobody uses the stock ford parts anymore - most buy a kit. The stock ford front end was not stout enough. Now MII is a way to identify a type of design.

The 74-78 Ford Mustang II and Mercury Bobcat suspensions were the same as well as 73-80 Pinto. You can still use the stock parts (spindles, upper and lower control arms, and tie rod ends) if you can find them, on an aftermarket crossmember but most are available in a stronger version now in the aftermarket.

Vern is right, but you really wouldn't want to put the stock parts (the lower control arm and strut especially was a real abomination) that were barely adequate for a 2000# economy commuter under a 4K# truck.
As ***** says the MII designation on the aftermarket units is now really a misnomer for an IFS that uses a rack and pinion steering and is based on the short control arm geometry of the MII. None of the parts with the possible sometimes exception of the spindles, balljoints, and main rack section even resemble anything that originally came on a Mustang or Pinto, and that's a very good thing!
well if your looking to scrounge a ifs you might look into the jag setup ive heard it talked about quite abit on here. ive heard its a really easy swap but other than that i cant help you out a lot, this isnt my area of expertice, my truck is 4wd.
