turn signal problem
Turn signal problem, '97 Ranger, 2.3 4-cyl., 5 spd manual. I searched through past posts, also checked Haynes manual -- no answer. The problem: over a period of weeks the turn signals worked less and less often -- usually the left one worked, but for the right one I'd have to flip the handle two or three times. Then the left started doing the same thing, and for the right I'd have to flip the handle six or seven times, and even then sometimes they didn't come on. Now neither works. But the emergency flashers work. Do they have separate flasher units? The Haynes manual says there's a flasher unit under the steering column -- doesn't mention two. If there's only one, and the emergency flashers work, what makes the turn signals not work?
