Hood insulation

Does anyone know where to get new hood insulation for a decent price? Mine's chewed up from a serpentine belt failure, and now it's soaked with transmission fluid from a cooler line that popped loose a couple of weeks ago. If they're not a lot, I'd just like to replace it.

Try LMC, they have an online catalog, seems like the replacement is about $40, the retainer washers and pins are also available. I haven't ordered one yet, if you do, let us know how it works out. I jusdt have other priorities right now.

I should have thought of that, I have them in my Favorites. It's a new link, though, I'm not used to it yet.

I've been finding them elsewhere for $120, so $40 is definitely a welcome discount. Thanks for the tip.

I've heard that guys have had better results with aftermarket sound deadners. Someone posted a link to some very economical aftermarket alternatives, they said the truck was twice as quite

Well,I always prefer a good rumble from the pipes. Underhood noise can stay there.

I always miss it the first time and type in lmctrucks.com, blank page there.

I need a new hood insulator for my 93 F250. I was directed to lmctruck.com where they have one for $39.95. Has anyone bought one and what do you think of it as far as quality and fit. I don't really want to spend $199.95 for the moulded one unless it is absolutely necessary. Someone posted about making a hood blanket out of marine engine cover material. Any suggestions. Thanks. Tom

So did any of you buy and install a new hood insulation kit? How'd it turn out? Are you guys talking about installing a Dynamat kit as far as aftermarket kits are concerned?

Mine is falling apart and half of the retaining clips are missing. Chunks of the hood insulation are showing up in my air filter. Unacceptable.

I need all that stuff too. Ain't the rear doors and windows the same as the front ones? They sure look like it to me on my 93.
