Idle Problems
I have been having this problem with my truck. I won a 78 Ford Bronco and am running a 429 SCJ in it. I have an edelbrock manifold and a Carter AFB carb on it with MSD Off-Road ignition.
The problem I am having is it will pick up this weird idle out of nowhere. It backfires a little bit but then it settles itslef back down to normal and will switch back and fourth between normal idle and the other one. It sometimes is rough and in the weird idle mode and sometimes its fine just seems to be advanced but just not sounding right.
Also when I am driving it it will do the same thing where the timming will advance itself and the the engine start making a clicking or pinging noise like when youre climbing a hill. I dont rightly know what this is, some have said it might be a leak in the intake manifold or carb. gasket. Any help would be much appreciated.

Has anyone ever had any problems running a Carter AFB carb, or MSD Off-Road ignition setup? I have heard that you have to time your engine with a special timing scope to do it correctly with the MSD ignition. Comments and help greatly appreciated.
