Question leaking gas

Hey guys. I have a 1990 F-150 302. I recently noticed a gas smell coming from the hood last weekend and decided to check it out today. I looked all over, thinking it might be that valve on the fuel rail has leaked before. All the injectors were fine, but after i let it sit for awhile i began to hear a hiss. I primed it one more time with the key and started messing with fuel lines, and bingo, gas started spraying from the leftmost crimp spring that attaches the fuel rail to the lines.

What am I to do, Ive never seen one of these things do this before. I am a little nervous about it right now knowing I drove it like this all last weekend and it didnt catch fire thank god. I cant seem to find a good set of fuel line tools to get it off, advanced only has those cheap plasitc ones that dont work well. Seems odd that it would just come loose. Have any suggestions?

I have both types of tools and I like the plastic ones the best. I think they work very well, they are the Lisle #37000 set. I do not like the scissors metal type at all, they are the K-D #3290.

Wish i have a picture of these tools. I just cant seem to get it off, i pushed the tool all the way in and pulled like hell. I found these at the help section at Advanced, and they dont leave much rooms for the hands. The Lisle #37000 look better suited for the job, is there any store I can find them at or is this a online order type of thing. Got to get this thing back on the road soon.

I think most auto parts store sell Lisle, I think I bough this set at O'Reilly.
I can take a photo of the Lisle Tool and post it back if you want it.
Take a look at this link:

EDIT:
Before I take them apart I spray WD-40 (Fish Oil) into them and then twist the lines in opposite directions to make sure they are free before I put the tool in.

Well, got the line off, just fell off when i wad messing with it. Used WD 40 and some grunting to get it back on. Didnt notice any damage but Im still uncertain as to why it came off. Bought a fire extinguisher for the truck(Dont want to take any chances on the road) So far no leaks but i havent drove it yet.
