The New Cold Start Flash
I read that there was a new flash for my 2005 6.0 Diesel and I called the Dealer. When I asked if there was a new flash the Dealer said there is no new flash! Then he asked if I don't have any error codes they will not pay for the flash. The first 6 weeks that I owned the truck it went in for a recall and one of the things they did was re flash the truck at Fords cost. Now the Dealer wants me to bring in the truck to see if it need to be re flashed. I asked don't you have that in the records what was done the last time? His answer was NO!The person was not in the best of a mood for me to ask anymore questions. Can any nice Ford people help me with this Flash question?

Yes they do have it in their records. The newest flash is in process of being released and maybe he just doesn't have the information or maybe he doesn't know how to access it. Maybe you should look for a more knowledgeable dealer when it comes to 6.0's cause they're definitely not all created equal. Also seems to me that if they requested you bring it in you shouldn't have to pay for it. A cold start issue also won't necessarily throw any kind of code. If all he goes by is the CEL or what the computer may tell him I'd be scared to death to let them touch my 40K plus truck.
