2003 F150 supercrew brakes/tires/alignment/transmission maintenace question

My 2003 F150 supercrew is hitting 40000 miles.

I had the transmission fluid changed once I think around 30000 miles, but do I need to do it that often? I have the standard transmission for this model - regular 5.4v8 engine, automatic. and my maintenance book says only the 4R100 needs every 30000. I think I have the 4R70.

Also I am replacing tires. How do people recommend to rotate them, just front to back, or should I crisscross them side to side as well? I rotated every 5000 and after about 33000 some of them had divots on the edge of the tread and caused a lot of shaking of the steering wheel. I put those two on the back to squeeze some more life out of them, but want to change all 4 at this time and start over with proper rotation, whatever that is. I assume I can mess up bearings or something with bad tires or having it out of alignment.

What should I expect to pay for the front brake job that it now needs? Pads are finally worn down.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I would go every 50 to 60K on the tranny fluid. Should be a 4R70W if it says Mercron V on the dipstick.
Mine have always been rotated front to rear with no problems.

Most shops charge around $60 for a brake job as long as the rotors are good.
