Found Build Sheet

I happened to stumble across the build sheet for the 68 F-350 truck in the garage of the friend I bought it from. I'm trying to get him to part with a factory 3 vol 1969 Ford truck shop manuals. The truck was a pretty much bare bones.

F35YCD70932
It was built on July 31 1968.
159" wheelbase
10000 gvw
Rangoon Red with red interior
360 V8
NP 435 4spd
Dana 70 4.10:1
Front shocks
Tube type dual rear wheels
Amp and Oil gauges (no idiot lights)
Side and roof marker lights
Western mirrors

The thing that puzzles me is that the truck had a 1969 Dana 70 with 3.73:1 gears and power brakes. I wonder if these things were added when the truck was converted into a tow truck as it has Direct Special Order number 6339. I think I might try to buy him breakfast to get the shop manual.

I might have a set of factory 3 vol 1969 Ford truck shop manuals. If I can find them and decide to part with `em will you swap a dually rear end from a Ford for them to use in my 53 M350?

I technically have no real need for the books but it would be cool to add them to my collection of Ford and Mercury literature. Hey how about we put the 53's body on the 71 frame. Already has a 390 and all the brakes work!

I thought about putting the 53 body on the 71 frame but I like the red 71 F350 too much to do that just yet.
I used the 71 on Sunday to haul the Bobcat and it works real well, just need to find a rear set (4) of tyres for it.
If the body wasn`t as good as it is on my 57 F350 it would be a great idea to switch it there.
Maybe I should put the 53 M350 body on my spare 56 M100 frame. All the running gear, brakes and steering, engine and rebuilt 3 speed transmission are still intact (new front springs/shocks).

Hey, what can I say? This way I can end up with two times the trouble/fun, a 56 and a 53!
You can always come out here and get things organized....

That may not be a bad thing depending on what/how it happened...
Guess we won`t go there though.
You sound like a good and an well organized shop foreman though and would get things done.

What do I need to give you Nathan to get a read out on my 1967 and 68, VIN number?

Wow July 31st. My 1967 must be careful or else it will become a 1968. Thats one day off my birthday. that truck is one day younger from 18 years older then me.

Well I guess there is technically 5 volumes.

Well it says on the build sheet. Have you tried to find the sheet under the bench sheat on your trucks. They just stuck it under the coils.

Fom if you take the 53 and pt it on your 57's great truck body I'm gonna personally come there and kick you in the A** so hard your eyes will turn brown.
Unless of course I can get that 57 cab.

Not dissing a motor change but that cab is nice, no need to ruin it.

Never looked at my 68, had the 67 seat out once where did I put it though?

Oh wait It's in my 1975 I'll look sometime but wow that would be lucky.

Sorry Fom got a bit carried away. But if you do ever replace the 57 cab, I could find a home for it.

No point in messing with the 57 like I said, ti`s very rust free and a very straight body.
It runs and drives very nicely and with the new tinted w/s it`s fun to drive.
Now if only I had more time in the summer....The 05 Lariat will eat up what the 67 Mustang doesn`t.
