running cold
Hi guys I got a question my 5.8 is running on the cold mark after you drive it for miles and let it idle. It runs very rough like this and stalls sometimes. It also shows a check engine light sometime but goes off after a couple of seconds. would this cause it to run rough not getting warmed up also it does throw heat.

repalce the tstat with a 195* and replace the engine temp sensor as well but only after you pull codes an report what you find. your gas mileage is probably sucken right now to huh?

Check your oil for signs of antifreeze, and check your antifreeze for signs of oil. You make have a cracked head or a bad head gasket.
Also check for signs of fluid leakage around the intake - common problem with older ford V8's
