Bezel detail

Does anybody know what is used to create the silvery colored trim on the dash bezel in the 70's pickups. It's not really a chrome, it is almost a brushed aluminum color. Is that a paint that can be restored. If so what color is it and were do you find it?

I have restored 2 of them using a silver pen (INK) that photographers use to sign photos.

It is tedious work but it is the closest to original I have found

I found a couple on ebay but you can buy them at good stationary or office products stores.

Ditto what Dennis said--a silver paint pen. Although the one I used had a narrow tip and didn't cover as evenly as I'd like. But it looked 100% better than when I started I was probably the only one that noticed it wasn't perfect.

i think the colour is called argent silver( if im wrong, some one correct me) but that is the colour i have used and it looks very close to correct in my eyes. i would suggest you try it before you go for it fully.incase you dont think it is the right colour tone .

Eastwood offers a lot of rattle can paints for duplicating OEM wheels etc. I've seen an argent silver. Goes on GM rally wheels.

Argent is the French Masculine "Noun" for Silver.

d'argent is the French "Adjective" for Silver

The detail on the bezel is a unique application.
It isn't commerical paint.

The plastic also has to be cleaned and prepped correctly or nothing will stick to it.

What's is the best method for prepping the plastic? Looking to clean up my interior, and this is a nice quick fix...
