Take off the handles two bolts and then pop it off, starting at the top and working your way down. There are 3, I think, metal snap-in clamps holding it in place.
It is much lighter than the handle so it sorta just fits back in without any clips. It's an interferance fit. Pretty tight once you stuff it up there. There was no need to trim any of the pod for my installation.
I drilled a hole in the pod on the windshield side into the pillar for one sheetmetal screw. I'm more comfortable with it that way. Nothing's fallen after 40,000 miles.
After you take out the bolts for the handle it will still be fastened by two screws from behind. Don't try to pull it off, remove the cover with the handle in one piece.
Im trying to figure out how i cut the pod and how does it connect back to the truck, it has no clips on it to go back in, confused!
You have to attach the pod (which is really a cover) to the "A Piller" braket. Some use push pins, some use screws, it is really up to you to determine the method as it makes it look like you want. One guy glued his to the A Piller braket. I used 4 small push pins and on the door side those two are covered up by the rubber molding and the two on the windshield side are really seen.
