Now that I'm ready to purchase a horn button for my stock standard cab 1955 Panel truck, I'm wondering about what there is to offer. I know 1953 had a unique anniversary button but there is a button called the Five Star and one with the gear with lightning bolt on it for 54-56. My question is the catalogs offer the gear/bolt style with white background or a red background. Why the differences in colors? I kinda figure Five Star style were originally on Custom Cabs. Does anyone have knowledge on this? Thanks
Check out this source for the answer to your question, they were pretty helpfulll in parts for my 53.
Thay also have an online catalogue to assist you or an 800 number to further do so.
I am not pluggin them just trying to help you with an answer, to your questiom, good luck.
My regular panel came with the gear/bolt style, I believe in white. Might have been black....it's been a while and, with many other F100 columns passing through me in the past decade I can't remember exactly.
'54 and '55 trucks all had the 5-star button, all models custom cab and standard cab. The button was black with the the stars and Ford script in chrome. The gear and bolt were for later years.
