Does anyone sell a Thermal Vacuum Switch for a 1983 F150 (300 I-6)? I haven't priced through the dealer yet, but I am guessing it will cost an arm and a leg if the part is even available. What happens if I just disconnect the TVS and plug it off? The part number on the TVS is D5AF-CA. Thanks in advance for any help.
i am guessing you are refering to the ported vacuum switch that threads into the top of the thermostat housing. no one makes one new, you may be able to get one through the ford dealership. when i swaped my 84 to duraspark 2 with non feedback carb i got my ported vacuum switch from the donor truck that gave me the carb (that was later rebuilt) and the distributor and coil. if you plan on getting one out of a boneyard make sure to take some pb blaster with you because the can be rather stuck in after time.
No, I am referring to the little round vacuum thing that mounts in the breather with a spring clip just behind the breather filter. On the back of the part, it says TVS and has a part number (?) D5AF-CA. Hope this helps. Thanks for the feedback.
