Cool Radio removal help

Hey guys i have a 2002 escape v-6 4wd, and it has a 6 disc changer that has a cd stuck in there or jammed up and i can't get the radio out it wouldn't be so bad but my Led Zeppelin cd's in there so this is gonna have to get fixed, "I gotta get the led out". I have a set of the ford radio removal tools, but the stupid thing won't come out it'll free up a little but nothing else. Is there something i'm missing here? Surely to god it should just come out right? If anybody can please help me out, or i'll get a hammer and the rest is history!!! JOE

Many of these radio systems have a support bracket under the dash and at the back of the radio unit.

i had the same problem with my 6 disc changer. after you put the tools in the holes, you can feel them lock. put a little pressure left with the left one and right with the right one, while applying the pressure pull slightly and it should pop out. then you can just pull on it and it should slide right out.

i also had to take it apart (isnt that hard to do) and take the cds out. what caused it to jam was a couple of the slots had come off the two pegs in the front. if you take it apart you will see what i mean. i just lined them back up, put it back together and it works like new now. thats been over 6 months ago and still no problems.
