How is it "ignorant" of me to imply that you "may or may not" be doing something that I am going to do?

I think calling me uptight is pretty ignorant don't you?

Oh yeah,

Forget the asvab, take a 747 to China instead and see where the US auto makers have set up shop. Singapore Airlines has the best service. Sit back, smoke a Bangalore torpedo..and relax...

The ASVAB....the old outdated test that unfortunately is still used to let people know how dumb, i mean smart, they are.

The best statement posted today. But substitute "smoke a Bangalore torpedo" for "sip on a Crown Royal and coke".

Hey,

I know it was all in good fun, but I do wanna reiterate something I said earlier

The best way to help Ford out of this mess its in isn't to buy Ford products out of blind brand loyalty. If we do that, Ford gets the idea that they can design and still sell unreliable, crappy trucks, and over time, they will only get crappier... If you really want to help Ford, buy something else!

That way, ford will get the idea that, hey, we're losing money/loyal customers, we needa shape up and get competitive again. Get a fire under their butt to redesign a better, more reliable, more innovative truck before they are WAY far behind the rest of the pack...

It's counterintuitive, but its true

Its so funny, we just got done talking about all this international trade stuff in my IB (Honors) Economics class. The book has a different take on it than the people who actually have the jobs that might be lost... Its really interesting

I think you have a valid point, but there's one small problem; there are actual people that think Ford is somehow God-like.......that there is no problems....that EVERYTHING with a blue oval is the absolute pinnacle of automobile nirvana.

There are people that with a straight face will argue that a Mercury Villager is a much better vehicle than a Nissan Quest.

That a Mazda B4000 is junk compared to a Ranger.

Or how a 4 cylinder Ranger is a much better motor than the Mazda 4 cylinder.

Your "blind loyalty" comment is the one thing that'll nearly be impossible to overcome.

haha very sad, but very true.

But I think that eventually, it will get to the point where even those people will get tired of it. If you read the diesel forums, its already happening.

I figure most of the guys on this forum are pretty diehard ford fans just to be here, so hearing them talk about buying or actually buying dodge/chevy/nissan has got to mean that a lot of other, less loyal buyers have already switched...

What I really want to see is what companies start to use for their fleet trucks. Bean-counters have no brand loyalty, so that will be really telling in the near future...

Huh???

Anyway, back on topic...

Ford may wanna to re-think that whole lousy line of Lincoln automobiles....their Achilles' heel, IMO.
