Hello All........
I am new here...I just got a 1997 f150 "Northland Edition" Extended cab...5-speed.... 3.08 gear ratio...4.6L...4x4...8ft box....very well maintained/pampered truck today. 
She only has 104,669 miles on. I bought it from a dealer around here an they gave me the previous owners #. The whole front end has been completely redone..he was running some big tires on it b4 an it wore things out prematurely...so all that work was done b4 he traded it in. Plus 4 brand new shocks all around an very decent tires..not new...but good enuf for now. He also put on a roll up tounou cover from his 96 Dodge Ram on the truck, vinyl racing stripes on the truck an a partial dual exhaust (off the end of the catylc converter) for kicks b4 he traded it in. It's solid an a joy to drive. TY. John :::bows an dissapears in the darkness:::

Hello and Welcome!
Don't disappear in the darkness, there's too much to see and learn here. lol Check out our tech forums and look at the chapter forums to see what your neighbors are doing.

Thank you for the friendly greeting. Much appreciated. I have found quite a bit of info...but there is so much more on here that i havn't found yet. I do have a weird ???...is it common for these trucks...after sitting awhile....for the thermostat to stick for a bit....then work normal in 0* an below temps?? Cause it stuck....the air turned cool.....guage maxed out...light came on....for 10-15 sec's...then went back down an the light went off. I was goin' 55 mph, then i came to a stop i was about to turn it off.....then everything was normal. An a 2nd time...the air started to get cold...then it warmed up...not even moving the guage that time.
An my second ???....does anyone know where i could find a American Racing Teron Center cap...other than through the manufactuor? TY...John
