78 bronco 4wd doesn'twork
I have a bronco that has manual 4wd. Last night in the driving snow storm it wouldn't shift into 4wd. Why? The transfer case is working and the hubs are also locked in. Any ideas?

Is the front drive shaft turning. If it is turnning it sounds like the lockouts are not fully locking in,

I HAD A 75 F-250 THAT DID THE SAME THING IT TURNED OUT THAT THE LOCKING MECHANISM ON THE PASS SIDE GOT A LITTLE RUSTY AND THE HUB WASNT REALLY LOCKED IN. PLACE THE TRANSFER CASE IN NEUTRAL AND CLIMB UNDER THE TRUCK WITH THE FRONT HUBS LOCKED AND SEE IF YOU CAN TURN THE DRIVESHAFT. IF YOU ARE ABLE TO TURN IT ONE OR BOTH OF YOUR HUBS ARE NOT LOCKING IN.
