Positive Ground?

With the discussion of 6 to 12volt I was wondering about changing to neg. ground.

That's the easy part. Either 6 or 12V you just change your battery cables, swap the wires on the coil, run the wire thru the ammeter backwards and polarize your generator.

When you change from a 6v to 12v, do you have to change a pos. ground to a neg. ground?

Pretty much have to, unless you use a generator, and can find a 12v pos. ground regulator. None of the 12v alternators come pos. ground. If you're going to all the trouble to convert to 12v, there is no good reason to stay pos. ground.
