same but different brake question

<TABLE><TBODY><TR><TD vAlign=top width="100%">95 f-350 with the brake pedal problem but everyone i have read says that the pedal goes to floor while pressing on it. this one as soon as you touch the pedal the vacuume takes it by itself. right now it is very cold and after it warms up it goes away, sort of. it gets better. when the pedal goes down you have to pull the pedal up with your foot. ive looked at the tech questions but havent read anything about pedal going by itself.

Is there a spring in the booster? Also I'm wondering if there is moisture in the booster and is affecting the spring or it may be defective. Is it cold where you are at?

Was just looking at old Chilton book and there is a return spring in the master cylinder. Maybe that is sticking or broken.

i will check. the truck performed well when it was warm out. but the brakes were spongy. might have to wait till things thaw a little. i dont want to be tearing everything apart 2 or 3 times to check for different things in the same area.
