i ran into a very crappy problem today, while installing my motor, and wiggling it around, i bent my kickdown rod, now when i manualy fuel the ip, the kickdown rod does not move whatsoever, what should i do? i know that its got to be in the right place, and i dont want it meesing up my trans if i adjust it to ware it will move......
I would just take it off. My truck used to pound through gears if you matted it. My brother in laws rusted off. With the RPMs these things have it is almost a joke they are on there. Mine kicks down just fine without the kick down rod and it is not forced and pounding. If I want to be in another gear I just pull the lever down.
The c6 will not be damaged by running wothout it, the pressures are set by the vacuum modulator. if you remove the kickdown rod you way not even know its missing!!!
You could just bend it back around to where it will move unless it's a lost cause. If you were closer I have a bunch of them laying around from turbo-ing them over the years.
They just need to take out almost all the play out of the lever at WOT.
