Ok I aparently had vistors in my heater at some time. So this summer I planed on pulling it out, cleaning it out, and paint/rebuild and replace. So I have been looking for a heater rebuild kit ( seals basically) and have not been able to find on. I guess they have seals? Are the boxes the same a the 66-77 heaters? or the 67 up? Also this is my first 66 heater i have a 54 but it is my summer truck( ie no salt on the road) How efficeint are the heaters? I have the deluxe heater. Should I think about adding a relay to the heater like for the headlights? https://www.ford-trucks.com/article/...r_Brights.html
Also should I think about switching out the blower moter while i am at it to something like this
( well I cant get the post to work with this link, It is a upgrade for the 66-77 bronco, it is a wheel and motor out of a 78 CH@@@@ pickup.
I know it is a X brand motor but I am just throw it out.
I will see how the heater core is and of course the hoses.
Any suggestions or else I sould consider? Any iedes about the realy, other blower moter, and a seal kit? if not kit is avalibe what can i use? thanks to all
Checkout this link. It's for a 66-77 Bronco but I do believe the same housings were used. The seal kit is all the way at the bottom with a picture of the heater housings. If not I will keep searching for another seal kit in the meantime.

Yep that was the kit i was thinking about, Is it the same as our trucks? thanks
I am sure number dummy can answer that one for sure since he has the parts manuals. I don't belive there is too much of a variance between the early bronco and 65-66 truck heating systems. It would have cost Ford more money to reengineer a heating system that they had on the shelves already.
Bronco: 1966/79 .. The parts are listed in the passenger car books...don't ask me why, I never could figure the reason. I have no passenger car books, sorry.
Well so much for that answer... I took a look at a few online catalogs for the bronco and f100 from the same site. Some of the parts do interchange like the heater core, blower motor, heater core firewall seals, blower motor seals, and a few hardware parts. It all depends on which seals you are looking to get your hands on. You can also make your own gaskets/seals or use RTV to seal some of the panel joints. If you chose to make the gaskets/seals they are made out of 1/8th inch dense closed cell black foam from what I can see. Most of the vent door seals are riveted between plates to hold them on. Pick up a bunch of rivets to replace them if you like. Divider door seals are stuck on so the door can move as needed and rest on the foam to seal it.
Putting in a relay is totally up to you. Would the switch last longer, most likely. The fan may also blow more air since the voltage wouldn't drop from resistance in the switch. That could also be the case by replacing the seals on your heater box. I would hold off on installing the other blower motor until the one you have goes dead. Think of it along the lines of it isn't broke don't fix it.
Hopefully all of this hasn't confused you more then you started off with.

Thanks, I will try and get it pulled out during spring brake and go from there. I guess I can get a pieace of short hose or some type of conector so I can run with out a heater for a while? thanks
