I have a 2000 F 150 XL 4x4 sport with the rear sliding window. The clip/lock that holds the window closed finally fell off. I have tried all sorts of different glues and such(glass glue, super glue, gorilla glue...) What would hold this on the best?(i think next comes JB Weld)
Hi fromme87, Where is the glue not holding...I mean, where is the failure? On the glass or on the latch. I see that you are in a state that is pretty cold right now. Do you have a garage? Have you tried rear view mirror glue on the latch? Just curious to know where the glue "isn't" holding. Joe
i know that the glue will not stick as well in the cold. I tried this all summer, i just now thought about posting here. The whole latch came unglued from the window
Hi fromme87, Sometimes it's the preparation of the areas to be bonded that makes all the difference to the items staying in place or falling off. I had to use a razor blade to clean the glass and the back of the latch and rubbing alcohol after that to get proper adhesion. I hope you aren't insulted by my asking about the temp...Sometimes you just don't know until you ask. That's why there is a great forum like this one.So we can all learn a little more about what we are doing. Joe
