Charged Air Return Seals

TOOK MY TRUCK INTO THE SHOP TO GET AN OIL CHANGE AND CHECK OUT AN OIL LEAK i HAVE NOTICED FOR THE LAST FEW WEEKS. THE TOLD ME IT WAS THE "CHARGED AIR RETURN SEALS" THAT WERE LEAKING AND THAT IT WAS COVERED UNDER WARRENTY.....DOES THIS SOUND POSSIBLE????

That's what we call the 'boots'. Yep, they will get very oily and loose their ability to seal well. You will begin to leak boost at that point and have been know to 'pop' off during high boost conditions.

Many of us here on FTE have done what is called the CCV mod which eliminiates the oil residue from the crankcase vent from being re-introduced into the air intake.

I think they are talking about the intercooler tube boots. The ccv is routed in to them and is known for oil to get into them from this. Alot of people do the ccv mod to eleminate this problem, do a search for ccv and you will find all sorts of info. Depending on what boots they are going to replace and how old they are it might be worth it. The boots can get expensive if you replace all of them. If they are just going to replace one it might be better for you to just clean it yourself and think about doing the ccv mod, until you stop the oil venting into the ic tubes it will eventually happen again.

Can This Really Lead To An Oil Leak Of Maybe One Or Two Drops Per Night Parked??
