I just got an original electronic distribution for my 390ci engine in a '57 Fairlane. Alsow got a Pertronix Ignitor and a Mallory Unilite conversion kit. One of those has to go. Which one should I keep for my 360ci in my '70 F-100? any sugestions
Pete, Both the Petronix and the Mallory are well recognized products. The Petronix has been successfully used in our era trucks with very few unhappy owners. There are probably only a handful of race cars in this country that don't run Mallory products.
You have a tough decision to make, both are excellent products.
pertronix. Unilite has a nasty habit of failing in the middle of BFE. Used to keep a spare module (at about 100 bucks a whack) in the 46. After 2 failures, went to a duraspark. That was about 15k ago. No worries
Only Time My 72 Torino Was Towed Was From A Failed Unilite . In My 68 F100 I Run A Duraspark And Factory Module. Its A Two Wire Swap One Wire When Key Is In On Position. Other Wire When Key Is In Start Position.my Set Up Is From A 85.f150. Duraspark Dist. Are Around $70.00 And You Can Get One For A 1976 360.

i'm thinking about switching to a duraspark. on the fordsix pages, they talk a lot about the duraspark/ tfi coil/ gm module setup. does the same apply to the 302?
