I have a 12 yr old microwave(I know I know buy a new one) anyway I was heating the dogs food up in it tonight,in the same bowl I always use, but tonight the bowl got so hot it almost melted to the glass rotisserie plate, the rotisserie plate was really hot too. any Ideas why this would happen. A friend of mine, his microwave did this with microwave popcorn, got so hot the microwave would shut off.
It seems like some containers absorb more energy from a microwave than whats inside, but more likely...sounds to me like the part of the microwave that limits its power is failing and its megga-blasting the poor pooches supper...
I had a panasonic that my folks bought in 1974. A couple of months ago, I was
heating a cup of water for tea, the same way as for the last 10 years, I was standing
by it and just happened to look inside. In about a hundredth of a second, the
contents of the cup turned white, not fizzy or bubbly, just white, and blew the door
open and blew steam through every seam and orifice of the thing. there was about
two tablespoons of water left in the oven. I bought a new microwave that afternoon.
Consider yourself fortunate your unit is giving you a subtle hint of its passing.
I got a new panasonic to take its place.
