Is this normal for the A/C??
Have a 01 SD 7.3L Lariat and the heater controls all work good but I noticed that the A/C compressor keeps engaging periodcally even when it's not in the defrost position. ( in the heat mode, it's cold in Michigan ) I know it is supposed to kick in on occasion in defrost mode. I ran the controls through all the poistions several times thinking that something was stuck but it still does it. I unplugged the compressor to keep it from engaging as fuel milage is bad enough this time of year.
Anyone else have this problem or is this normal? I see there is a TSB about the vacum pump but there seems to be no related problems with that and the auto 4x4 works good.
