I have a 1973 F-100. Standard Cab and Bed. The motor and trans have been replaced from a standard trans to a newer 302 and an automatic trans.
I have a serious vibration only when I leave off the gas. Under accelleration the truck is fine. Which leads me to think that it is not a tire/wheel problem. I am wondering if it may be a driveshaft issue such as length or balance. There seems to be a longer than normal length of the yolk hanging out of the rear of the tranny. Is there a certain length that the driveshaft should be?
did you check your u-joints? i had this prob in a nova once and it turn out to be a tierod end? i would check the drive train for anything loose. but, would start with your u-joints if you think it is in the rearend.
