Again no. You back fill the treads so each and every step is basically solid.

Yes there will be a drain. The intention is to totaly enclose it and make it a inside entrance.

Right now it's only spear guns I have to worry about, but if I keep sitting here punching these keys. I see harpoons in my future too.

The show I was watching was in the Minnessota area. How long ago did I see it? I couldn't tell ya. I have not tried searching yet. I was was looking for anyone who might have it or installed it.
You are Johnny on the spot find things on the web. If you cannot find it. Maybe it was a white Elephant.

I have the precast steps. They are set into place with a small truck mounted lift, and have predrilled holes in them. The installer drills into the foundation and bolts them to the foundation. Great! First, before they are set, the installer had a small load of stone delivered and the steps were set on the stone base.

10 years ago they weren't available so i just framed up and poured my own.
Only took a weekend to do and they look and work great.
I did not put a drain at the bottom because we have a Bilco door over it.

I have looked a few times on the web. I have found mention of them in a few forums. So I know they are out there. I searched fo prefab basement stairwell egress. Many hits for windows but, not stairwells. Any ideas on what we should call them for a search criteria?
