I have the precast steps. They are set into place with a small truck mounted lift, and have predrilled holes in them. The installer drills into the foundation and bolts them to the foundation. Great! First, before they are set, the installer had a small load of stone delivered and the steps were set on the stone base.
10 years ago they weren't available so i just framed up and poured my own.
Only took a weekend to do and they look and work great.
I did not put a drain at the bottom because we have a Bilco door over it.
I have looked a few times on the web. I have found mention of them in a few forums. So I know they are out there. I searched fo prefab basement stairwell egress. Many hits for windows but, not stairwells. Any ideas on what we should call them for a search criteria?
