I installed my guagues and wired them up. the gauges them selves work fine. Before i finished wiring i tested everything. For the guage lights i accessed the wire at the head light control switch. When I tested the lights on the guages the first time they worked headlights worked and the the thing that beeps when the door is open and the headlights are on worked. Tested it one more time no head lights, gauge light,s or beeping noise. I pulled the fuse that controls the head lights it was not blown however the power on customer accesses fuse # 27 was which is where I wired the power for the guages to was blown. I replaced both fuse 27 and the head light fuse now I got head lights but no beeping or guage lights. Any Ideas?
I now have gueage lights and head lights steel no beeping though. My truck head lights are a dark red with yellow tracer not light blue with orange tracer. I drove around ten minutes shut the truck off twice never blew a fuse. Got home shut it off turned it on blew a fuse it did it twice any suggestions. Its the customer acces from down by the fuse panel that the power to the guages is wired and its fuse 27 a 10 amp.
I would pull the gauge pod down and check the wires. You may have pinched a wire when you snaped it into place. There is not much room and could easily be done!!
Hey redneckboy. The wire should be a light blue with red tracer, should be at the top of the black plug. This wire is to the dimmer which allows you to dim the gauges. I believe the large red with yellow trace is your 12v ig source. Try disconnecting the lights and see what happens.
When I put a test lgiht on the blue with orange tracer and turn on the headlights parking light and move the dimmer switch I get no power on the test light??? I dont know.
The first place I taped into was the blue with red tracer i guess. I have a hard time telling colors but I couldnt find no other blue with a tracer so figured that was the one they were talking about. i had guage light power on that one then I shut it off turned it back on it dinged twice and then I no longer had guage lights or the dinging. Then thats when I noticed the blown fuse on 27 but thats for the key on ingition for the guage power. I replced the fuse and havent had dinging or guage light power or test light power from the light blue with orange or red tracer sense.
its real easy to get one of the wires crossed over that rib when you snap the a-pillar back in. if you have grounded the light control wire due to a pinch it could blow the fuse 27 you are using for key on power. light blue/red tracer is the dimmer control wire.
I have Auto meter gauges from RPM outlet and they didnt come with no wires at all you got to do all the wiring yourself. I found a fuse that had blown that i missed. I replaced the fused and i reconected to the blue with the tracer and that is the dimmer and it all works now. I just need to run and get some more fuses for the number 27 and see if i have actual gauge power now. I will keep you guys posted and thanks so much for the help its greatly appreciated.
8 psi floored thats with intake and 5 inch exhaust. The boost hose keeps poping off the t. I taped it down so hopefully that will quit. Im going to rego over the whole boost tube hose when i get a chance. From what I have read i think it might be kinked or pinched somewhere cause i dont lack no power so i dont think I have any leaks anywere. My trany temp and Egts seem to be normal.
