Time and costs?

Heya Folks!

Quick question... How much time, and money are we talkin to do the following maintenance (being performed by yours truly!):

1) oil and filter change
2) plugs and wire change
3) transmission fluid change (complete with pan drop, new filter and seal)
4) IAC replacement...

This work is being done on my 99 F-150 (4.2 V6, Auto)...

Thanks Crew!!

depends on how you plan to tackle cylinder #4's spark plug... i couldnt get to it with my hands, had to get a friend of mine with smaller hands to get to it, and it was in there reeeeally tight.. took us a lil less than an hour just for that one POS plug, maybe 45 min.. the rest were a breeze in comparison.. all together, with everything you wanna do, you should probably start around 10 or 11 am on a sunday (or whatever day you have off) and you should be finished well before dinner, depending on how many problems you may, or may not, come across. good luck!

Welcome to the forums

1) $20 or less. Use a Motorcraft filter!! Walmart has good prices on Motorcraft oil an filters. 1/2hr

2) $75 or less. 1hr or so.

3) $45 or so. (Although I prefer a power flush, it changes all of the fluid even whats in the lines and cooler. Roughly $100 to $125) 1hr or so.

4) $50 to $60 anout 10 min.

the trick is to get 2 long extensions for your rachet and attatch the together with an elbow to where you can get one in there then put the other one on and get that sucker out. first time i changed my plugs it took me about 2-3 hours after reading a forum which told me about this trick i changed plugs and wires in about an hour or less
