auto to 5 speed conversion
Folks,
I have a good 5 speed out of a 91 ranger but I don't know if it was a 3.0 or 4.0. Do all the V6's have the same bell housing? Will the transfer case from my 84 C5 auto bolt right up? Trying to decide whether to build the C5 or swap in the 5 speed manual. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you got a 2.8, the 4.0 Tranny may work I'm thinking. Can anyone else back this up? You can surely find an FM146 that would work anyway.
C5's are very desirable to some because you can parts from them to do a V8 4X4 Ranger on the cheap.
You'll probably have to address the crossmember, as well as the shifter conversion.
Pedals, slave setup, and the neutral safety/backup light switch will also need to be addressed, a parts truck would be great to look at.
