well i crawled under it to diagnose some problems with my truck and whooo boy. Tie rod ends all ball joints, front brakes and hardware, rear brakes and hardware, front rotors, rear drums, box on tranny where speedo cable attatches and speedo wire broken, e brake cable, thermostat, block heater, tune up, and an oil filter lube. Im gonna be busy this weekend. "Mrs. Parkinson, Please hold my calls."
One thing though is the twin-I-beam suspension is real easy to work on. Now the "box on tranny where speedo cable attaches", would you be referring to the VSS? If so that part may be slightly costly.
Yikes...sorry to hear about all the work needed that kind of defeats the purpose in buying a cheap beater hey...sounds like your doing it right though...that should save alot of headaches later on down the road...good thing you know what your doing...imagine if you had to send it to a shop?
like the other 75-90% of the population
That`s why most have to buy new, the cost of having it repaired is too great. Add the rebates, low interest charges and low payments it doesn`t pay to take an older vehicle to a shop for repairs time after time.
But most don`t even realize how high the rate of depreciation really is.
