Exclamation Block Heater Plug

1994 DIT Diesel.

I'm pretty sure I've found it. I get the cover off and it's some plug I've never seen before. Is there an adapter or is that just the wrong wire? I looked right where everyone on these forums have said it's at and there's no way to plug in an electrical cord to that plug.. Help.

Thank you.

The way I understand it, the block heater was an option. I have a '97 so I'm not sure about the '94 model. From checking the other threads, as you've done, leads me to believe if it was an option, there would an electrical connection at the specified location, but no component to connect.

If you're sure your truck came with a block heater, you might try taking it to the dealer or shop and have a DIESEL mechanic take a quick look.

The plug should be just the same as any 3 prong extention cord. Where did you find what you found & what does it look like ?

It was hanging up under the driver side headlight, behind the bumper. It's a rectangular opening with four metal prongs...

That doesn't sound like it. Sounds more like where the DayTimeRunning Lights modual goes.
Look between the core support & the battery on the drivers side. It will be a cord just like on a power drill or power saw.

Couldn't find it there.. Unless it's plugged into the air filter housing. I'm 100% sure I have one. I can see the wire coming out above the oil filter, but I can't seem to find where it ends...

I think I may have misunderstood what you're really looking for. On my '97, the electrical cord for the block heaterd is located in the bumper opening on the driver's side. Mine still has the 3-prong cover. I wrap that around a vertical metal piece in the bumper opening so it doesn't fall back into the recessed areas under the battery area or in front of the radiator.

If you see the power cord coming out from above the oil filter then that's it. Try and trace it forward. I think mine was around the drivers side battery towards the inside of the tray but it's been so long not really sure. I just leave mine hanging down behind the bumber now. It's hard to find because the wire is black and the cover for the plug is black also. Keep looking it's there.

When I found mine, the best way I can describe it is this. If you were laying on the ground under the drivers side headlight area, reach up along the side of the radiator as if you were following the tank of the rad all the way up. You should hit something that resembles a wrapped up extension cord tucked and tied up before you get all the way up to the top. Mine was a pain to find and a buddy's was practically hanging with a here I am sign on it. My guess is it depends on who did that day at the factory, Monday or Friday, and their state of mind at the time. Maybe they get in a mood to mess with the eventual owner, gotta do something to make the days go by. Just my opinion, I know I've done stuff like that before just for a giggle.: )
Hope you find it.

hahaha, I found it hidden in plain sight. It was ziptied to the top corner of the radiator. I hate being so retarded.

Thanks a lot, you guys.

So, back to that other plug I found and broke the cap off of. Someone mentioned something about that might have to do with the headlights. Is that where they put a modulator to keep the headlights on whenever the truck is on, for Canadian models?
