yeah i know this doesnt belong here but i know there are some good mechanics here. i have a 99 s-10[ also a 53 f-100 but no problems]
i changed the clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearings and pilot bushing.
everything in correct. i now have hardly any clutch. shifting gears is very difficult. i bled the clutch several times using the valve release bolt on the tranny above the clutch pressure line. anyone have any ideas. thanks
I read some where if the slave cylinder in on a angle ,( bleeder is lower or higher can't remember ) it has to be bench bled. I think they get air locked.I dont know if yours is on a angle or not.
I would assume anything with a slave cyl. that had a mushy clutch, S-10 or Ranger, had to be power bled. I doubt it will eventually self bleed like a mstr cyl. I would buy a Phoenix system from Northern Tools instead of the cheapo (which I bought and only 1/2 works) from a local parts mart.
If it has a slave cylinder Take it off and put a wire or something around the rod that actuates the clutch so that it don't shoot out.Put the bleeder valve higher that the slave so the air will rise out of the slave.
I had to do it this way on a 92. I don't know if yours is like mine was.
