return line

can i run a line from the return line on the back of the motor to the tank behind my seat in my 70 f250, or does it need a pump to get it back into the tank?

There would be at most 5 PSI in that line possibly less...... You really can pump fuel from the return line up to a tank or it will suck air possibly that would/could get into the fuel system and cause worse problems.

Being an older gasser truck there is concern as to wheather that tank is nickel dipped or galvanized..... if it's galvanized the diesel will desolve the galvanizing and deposit it into the injectors.

The diesels usually have two tanks one on the drivers side under the box and one behind the axle under the box. Visit LMCtruck.com there should be a picture on there. The tanks have special fuel pickups and return lines attached to the senders. There is also a special fuel selector valve on the frame by the front tank.

Short of drilling a hole in the filler neck inside the truck and screwing a knipple in to it and attaching the return hose routed up from the floor. Maybe someone else has a better idea.......
