What kind of stuff do you leave in your cab that looks so appealing? You have been broken into on more than one occasion, and they have not taken the whole thing yet? If you have nothing to take, then don't lock it, if they are not looking for the whole thing, and there is nothing inside that they want, then they will get bored and move on. Besides, if you lock it, and they do want the whole thing, they will just bust the window, and take the truck anyway. Ask me how I know. I have rarely locked any of my vehicles after a few break-ins, and have had good luck. I never leave anything inside, and they get left alone. Windows started to cost too much to lock the doors.
I have to agree with 75F350, one of the best deterents is to not leave anything in plain sight. Although I just had an alarm installed recently, it still makes sense to not have anything showing. Nothing is 100%, but if you have nothing for them to steal, that brings the odds way down.
Thanks for the suggestions. The Jimmijammer sounds good but wouldn't stop the 2 I had as they put a screwdriver or such in the key hole and they were in.
Didn't have much inside they could see. The first time was in my yard and I was home and it was broad daylight. They got a couple small items and used the garage door opener to get in and stole a couple things there. Suppose they either got enough to make it worthwhile or figured out I was home!
Second time was in a Costco parking lot and they took a glasses case with sunglasses a set of keys. Left some CD's (didn't like my kind of music?) and a shopping bag from the store I had just been in.
You can always put the rear door handle from a Crew Cab in place of the driver's side. Since it doesn't have a lock, it can't be jimmied. You DO have a keypad and keyless entry, right?
