If you pull all the window controls out from the door panel there is a wire under each window button. I have to take one of the wires from a different window and put it under the drivers window to make it go up. It will go down but it will not go up unless I do this.

I assume that you mean by this that you remove the "up" wire from one of the other switches, and hold it to the same contact on the driver's window switch. If so, you either have a faulty switch, or no power on the wire that supplies current to the "up" circuit.
To check the switch, swap it out with one of the others and see if the problem follows the switch.
If the switch is OK, then the "up" circuit isn't getting power. To check this, use a voltmeter or test light and see if the wire for the driver's window has 12 volts when the ignition switch is in the "on" position. I don't have wiring diagrams for an '02, but on the diagram for a '96 Explorer, the "up" wire is red with a yellow stripe. If no power, you have a break in continuity in the wire somewhere, a bad ground, or possibly a bad GEM (generic electronic module).
Good luck!
