I'm in need of help locating my cam position sensor. If anyone can help me locate it I would be greatfull. I know that it's the problem because I'm getting a code for it.
Here is the easiest way I can think of to get to the CPS:
Have your "working on the truck and I don't care what I look like" clothes on.
Make sure you are wearing eye protection and work gloves.
If you remove the serpentine belt from the bottom pulleys, your visual field is enhanced. From the front of your truck, lie down on your back, grab the bottom edge of your bumper, and pull your self under the truck until you see your pulleys.
Near the crankshaft pulley, you'll see an electrical connection. That's the CPS.
I hope this helps.
It took me 10 minutes of repositioning myself under the truck to finally decide to remove the belt from the lower pulleys. Once the belt was out of the way, removal and installation took 5 minutes. It might have gone faster, but I had back surgery in March and was taking it easy on myself.
