The way to test to see if they are all working is to get someone with a nice scanner ( mechanic buddy) to scan your truck and do a CCT- Cylinder Contribution Test). What it does is cuts out one cylinder at a time, and it measures the loss in idle RPM. If one drops less rpm when it is cut out, it is meausured and determined faulty. What is the cause?
I replaced my CPS and MAP sensors, It idles alot better than with all of them faulty. On a road test, (Its always done it but its a little bit more noticeable) But at 55mph and steady petal pressure, it runs good. When i give it just a little bit of gas, maby to do 57 mph it has a weird sound to it, Sounds like some missing. Its also around0 degrees out and i know that makes it more noticeable. But i think something may be wrong. I will have to take it to get scanned tomorrow. Thanks
Injector buzz test, would do the same as a CCT in a way, leaking up pipe, look around your exhaust manifolds where it goes up to the turbo, where the collector before the turbo, if there is black soot on those pipes they are leaking.
Injector Buzz test, motor off scaner tells each one to fire and you can hear them "buzz" then you can tell if one is fireing weaker then the other. you can hear it let alone the computer telling you.
Up pipes, go from the manifold to the drive side of the turbo. these tend to leak at the turbo and can make a strange noise.
Do they make an Injector rebuild kit? I found a place called DIY injectors but they only deal with early powerstrokes. I found a kit to rebuild all 8 to a 160 CC injector for around 235 bucks. With me wanting to some mods, i would be willing on doing that.
160cc is only 20cc more then your stock AD's. And make sure these are split shots they are talking about. Single shots will require different programing to run. I really doubt you have a injector issue but you never know.
