Temp & Gas Gauge Do not work?

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 16-Dec-02 AT 02:22 PM (EST)]I have an 1989 Bronco 5.0 with an AOD. I cannot figure out why my gas and temp gauge are not working? I have checked everything I can think of, fuses, connections, and so on. I thought maybe someone else had run across this before. The gauges were like this when I bought the truck a couple of months ago. I have fixed a ton of problems, but I need your help on this one. Any feedback is welcomed help!

Pull the cluster and test the continuity of the sender wires from the cluster connectors to the senders. Also, clean the cluster connectors. Those gauges rarely go bad, but the fuel senders are known to. Your temp sender may just be unhooked - make sure the connector bites on the sender terminal by crimping it slightly.

Did you find it? Have you pullled the cluster before? Many people have trouble with the speedo cable, but it's actually really easy to disconnect. Just push the big white collar down and it'll slide off the back of the speedo. The cluster connector can sometimes jam in the cluster, but just push it back in & pull it squarely out, then make sure each terminal is clean.
