My 99 240 PSD has started leaking diesel.. Small puddle under the truck after all night stay in the garage... Any common problems I can look for as I try to trace this down... IT isn't leaking at the filter.. Thanks!!
Check for leaks around the filter housing drain valve. The o-rings seem to be a common leak item, and they are relatively cheap but can also create quite a mess.
I just had to replace the two O rings in the water fuel separator drain valve last week. It was leaking out the drain tube. You may want to check to see if your leak is coming through that tube as well. Sometimes you may find it puddled behind the fuel filter in the valley but not always. If you do a search on fuel separator valve leak you will find a ton of hits. It seems to be related to the newer low sulfer fuel eating the O-rings up. Here is a link that everyone looks at to replace the O rings
I just replaced the o rings on the water seperater, below the fuel filter, if overtightened.....the lil plastic thing WILL break. New part $50 to $75 depending on dealer.
Also headed off a future problem as a small water leak was detected. This was not to be seen unless laying on the motor...while u r there look for a loose bolt on the turbo.................yep I have duck legs!

Or trash in the fuel bowl drain valve. Might try working the valve a couple of times to see if any debris can be cleared away. It's a little bit of a long shot but I have seen it happen.
