Tow/Haul problem??
I was towing my new tractor back for 200 miles or so. The tractor and trailer probably weigh about 5,000 give or take. I used tow haul mostly just for grins and i noticed twice that when i had to slow down quicker than normal there was a terrible pop or clunk noise that seemed to originate from under my feet. It only did it when the transmission downshifted to first. Now, if i just really really really eased down the speed, it would upshift and it would be ok, but twice i actually used the brakes a little more and when it downshifted to first it made an audible and feelable clunk. It COULD have been the trailer or tractor shifting, but i and the wife definately said "pull over and check it out, that didnt sound good."
Anyone experience this? What in the world was it?
