Mine literally screams after starting at zero degrees, even when I've used the block heater. But the "scream" tapers off within only a second or two and the engine sounds normal thereafter. I had two Dodge mini-vans that did exactly the same thing....

I believe that annoying buzzing sound it makes on start when real cold is the power steering pump. My f-150 used to make the same noise.
No, I don't think that's the noise we're talking about. The noise we seem to be hearing is after the truck has been sitting overnight or so in very cold temps and when you go to turn the key, the second it turns over it makes like a kind of howling noise that only lasts for like a second and it's gone. Seems to be a normal thing in frigid weather. Now, I just press the remote start from inside the house and I don't get to hear it anymore.

I'm pretty sure it's the same thing, only I'm describing it as a buzz. It's right after the engine starts and lasts only a moment only in near 0 or below overnight temps.
