Stripped Hex Bolt!!!!! HELP!!!!!
stripped hex bolt!!! ahh...how do I get it out? The bolt is set into the manual hub so there is no was to get any kind of tool around it instead of pulling it out.....how can I get it out? It is one of the bolts that are the very first you incounter when taking the hub apart.

As far as removing a stripped hex bolt, sometimes if you remove all of the other bolts it will loosen tension on the remainng one enough where you can get it out easily. If not, you will need to use an e-z out.

you could drill out the head and then take all the other bolts out and take the hub off. then you can probably grip the bolt with vice grips and turn out. a good hardware store should have a new bolt. good luck

I had the same thing happen a few months ago... I tried to drill it out and after ruining the hub casing trying I just took a 4" angle grinder and cut through the bolt..Once you get the hub off the bolt should unscrew pretty easy...In my case it was probably time for new hubs anyway:-) BTW I replaced the stock hubs with Superwinch and I am really impressed with them.
