I was wondering if the rocker arm studs in a 1971 302 were pressed or threaded? If they are pressed is there any way to get them out while I am on the road (no shop or special tools), or do I have to take it to a shop to have it done? Oh and im having trouble adjusting my rockers in the first place. I can get them to sound good for the low and mid RPM range but in the higher RPM ranges they clatter. Please help, Thank you.

Several compainies and most of the tool trucks sell rocker stud pullers. I've tried the oversize, they do work fairly well. The best cure I've found is to remove the heads, take them to a machine shop and have the studs removed, bosses milled, and the holes bored and tapped for aftermarket screw in studs.
