intake manifold diffrences
I have an 02 f150 4.2 and my dad has the same truck with the same motor but the intakes are diffrent. he has a silver intake that spans over the top of the engine like a huge plenum and i have a low profile looking black intake. does anybody know why ?? if so what are the goods and bads of having it???

The big silver Klingon battle ship is a heavy cast piece.Ford then decided to save a few pounds and make the black composite intake.The composite one has a problem with the intake bolt gaskets leaking.The Klingon battle ship,it's just heavy.

well that is what i figured. thank you for clearing it up. when is there usually a proplem with the bolt gaskets leaking??? might be something i should replace before the problem happens.
