anyone used this oil in there trucks? I'm due to change the oil. I've been using the motorcraft semi-syn, and i wanted to go full synthetic since its finaly getting cold here. any opinions?
never used it....friend uses it in his ram 5.9 and hasnt complained
i use amsoil though....in everything, tranny, diffs, tranfer case and engine.
i use the series 2000 0w-30 and their Ea oil filter....ive had great success with it and will continue to use it
All Royal Purple oil products are API certified, unlike Amsoil which has only 2 oil products that are API certified.....
Bob thats not totally true, not all the RP stuff is API, the race oils are NOT API certified, not that it's much of a difference but in the interest of honesty we need to let all the info out.
now as to RP, I have used it in my race engines for the past couple of years, and find that my bearings are living longer and the engine is keeping oil preasure better under the extreme conditions I put them through, I also noticed a 10 deg temp drop in my transmission, and the fact that it's not just burning the ATF up after a couple of races like I used to get with other oils.

Thanks for the correction Rob! The last time I checked the API site, it looked like all the RP products were API certified.
Bob this is a quote from the FAQ page of Royal Purple.

You are correct in regards to the SAE stuff, and all the other oils, just making the distinction of the racing oils not meeting that spec, although I think they went every bit as strict on the outcome but didn't bother to try and meet a spec put out by a agency that has government rules etc to follow.
