Heater Fan Controls

Hi all,
Just found this forum, wish I had discovered it years ago! I have a '99 F150 4WD (extended cab, flareside but that doesn't really matter in this case I guess) with the 5.4l. My heater fan will only work on the High setting. Before I tear into the dash, has anyone else had this problem? I assume it's common as my boyfriend's '96 Ranger does the same thing.

Thanks for the help!

Your blower motor resistor is shot. You'll find it way up under the dash behind the glove box.

Thanks!

Thanks! That's the 4-pronged square blower motor switch, correct? I was really hoping to not have to tear into the dash . Oh well, better than a sharp stick in the eye!

I believe it should be a 4 wire connector going into the heater plenum behind the glove box. You shouldn't have to get into the dash.

Just a couple screws and a contortionist. I usually snap my body in half and pull my torso in leaving the rest outside. But its not too bad..
