That's the only thing I found about my 01 that I thought was sub-standard. I Babied it for 3 years until it finally came off. I glued it back on with one drop of Gorilla Glue. You have to be smart about using that glue it expands. Too much glue and it's in that position forever
It actually feels and works better then it ever did from the factory!! Been that way for about 3 years now, I don't baby it at all!!

just the **** is broken.if i turn the switch shaft to turn on the headlights or if i pull on the shaft to activate the fog lamps all works ok.looking at the shaft nothing seems broken just seems to be the ****.
